Information Management is a huge subject, which covers the collecting and processing of all data electronically and on paper. There are a number of Acts which govern how we use, process and share data such as the Data Protection Act 1998(DPA), the Freedom of Information Act 2000(FOI) and there is also the Environment Information Regulations Act (EIR) The Computer Misuse Act. Regulatory Investigatory Powers Act (RIPA) and others. .
CYPD has put together this ActiveSite to assist anyone processing data, which hopefully will give you guidance on any Information Management subjects listed on the left. The majority of items are aimed at Schools as schools are classed as Data Controllers in their own right, but equally covers the handling and answering of requests received within CYPD. Under each section you will find further subjects such as Privacy Notice and Retention Schedules, as well as a download area , which will hold any relevant documents for that subject from the Information Commissioner's Office, DfE and any other source.
