UNICEF Day for Change
1 February 2008 – Water and Sanitation in The Gambia

UNICEF would like to invite your school to take part in Day for Change, the fun and educational fundraising event for schools. In 2008 schools will be raising money for water and sanitation projects in The Gambia, West Africa.

Schools that agree to raise funds for UNICEF and register for Day for Change will receive a FREE education pack in the first week of January 2008.  The pack includes two A2 posters and a CD-ROM full of activities, assemblies, information on The Gambia, as well as case studies to illustrate the issues children face in The Gambia.  There are also lots of fundraising ideas to help your school raise as much money as possible to ensure that more children have access to clean and safe water.

Day for Change officially takes place on Friday 1 February 2008, but you can choose another suitable day.  Your school can choose what kind of day it will be – fancy dress, hold a “Be a teacher for a day” competition or wear national costumes.
